7 Days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Chefchaouen & Desert, Upon arrival in Casablanca, our guide will be there to receive you to begin your tour. Once we leave the city, we have a drive of around five hours to reach Chefchaouen.
Welcome in Morocco !! Upon arrival in Casablanca, your guide will be there to meet you to begin your tour. Once we leave the city, we have a drive of around five hours to reach Chefchaouen. If you arrive early, we could include a tour of the Hassan II Mosque. We travel north along the Atlantic coast to reach the imperial city and capital of Rabat, where we could stop for lunch if you wish. Continuing we reach the forested slopes and lakes, which means that we are approaching the blue city of Chefchaouen. You will stay in a typical hotel and have the night off to explore.
Today, you have the morning free to discover this magical medina with its unique urban landscape. After lunch, we depart and travel to visit the Roman ruins in Volubilis; An important city with many well preserved artifacts. Travelling through fertile farmland and villages, we reach the ancient city of Fez and its medieval medina. Here you will spend the night with dinner and breakfast included.
This morning after breakfast in your riad, you will start a sightseeing tour of the city with a local guide. Who will give you more information about the city and its attractions. You will visit the Medina (old city) while walking on foot. You will visit the Bouanania and the Attarine Medersas constructed in the early 14th century by the Merinides, the Mosquee et Universite Karaouiyne/Karaouine (The ancient educational center of Islamic learning), and the Nejjarine Marble Fountain. You will have a break for lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant. Continuing on your visit, you will view the decorated gate of Bab Boujeloud, the medieval tanneries, the Royal Palace. Then visit the Souks (local markets) where merchants and craftsmen sell their hand-made jewelry, leather goods, copperware, and pottery. After the visit, you will be returned to your riad.
Leaving Fez, we travel to the large cedar forests with their alpine villages of Ifrane and Azrou. In the forest you will undoubtedly take a look at the macque monkeys that live there. Midelt is called the capital of Apple, as it grows a lot of varieties. Lunch will be in this city. From here, landscapes change many more times, passing large rivers, mountains and palm groves. The Ziz valley is an impressive sight. The next stop is at Erfoud’s fossil and mineral workshops. This region has unearthed many amazing fossils and even dinosaur bones. You will begin to notice that the colors change and soon you will see the dunes from distance. When arriving in Merzouga dunes.a cup of welcome mint tea will be waiting for you at your tented . Relax and enjoy your time, take a walk in the area and enjoy the silence of the desert.
After breakfast, we embark on an adventure in the desert to discover the oases, the mines, the nomadic people and visit the town of Khamlia to listen to very special Gnawa music. In the afternoon, you will meet your camel team and prepare to cross the dunes. You will spend the night in a nomadic camp with dinner and music around the campfire. This is an unforgettable experience and if the stars are out, they will be amazing.
An early attention call ensures that desert dawn is not lost; This is a magical sight that is worth waiting for you. Leaving the desert behind, we stop first in the commercial city of Rissani, where you can visit its colorful souks. The nearby ruined city of Sijilmassa formed an important part of the history of this region. We travel west to Tinejdad and Tinghir past palm groves and adobe villages. From here, we climb the mountains to see one of the wonders of nature; Todra Gorge, this 300-meter-high fault has at its feet, a crystalline river that broke through the mountain to form this gorge. Returning to the valley, we continue towards Boumalne Dades and take the road to discover another incredible wonder at Dades Gorge. Here you will spend the night at a local guest house with dinner and breakfast.
After breakfast, we will take you to see the incredible rock formations and the hidden kasbahs in this gorge. Returning to the Dades Valley, we continue our journey passing many adobe kasbahs and the valley of the roses where the Damascus rose grows and processes the flowers for many different products. Leaving this valley, we pass the ancient palm grove of Skoura with some impressive kasbahs and arrive at Ouarzazate; The capital of the cinema. Here are several movie studios where movies like Cleopatra were made. We continue to arrive at the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou that was used in the movie The Gladiator, as well as in many other films. You can stop here to visit and have lunch. In the afternoon, we drive over the High Atlas mountains, Berber villages and farms dot the hillsides and carved rivers on their way. We cross the Tizi n´Tichka pass at 2260 meters of altitude and descend on the return roads to reach Marrakech at night.
