Morocco northern & Fes Photography Tour

Morocco Photography Tours

Tour description of 10 days Fes & North Morocco Photo Tour

This isn’t just a Morocco photography tour. It’s a journey through northern Morocco, from the salty air of Tangier to the peaceful blue streets of Chefchaouen, and into heart of Fes. Along the way, you’ll walk through old medinas, visit small mountain villages, share tea with families, and enjoy home cooked meals that feel like home.

The days move slowly. You’ll see how women color wool with plants. Sip mint tea on rooftops. Hear laughter in the street. Find stillness in shaded courtyards. You don’t need to be a pro just come with an open heart, a camera or phone, and a sense of wonder.

You’ll return with more than photos. You’ll carry real moments, new friendships, and a true feeling for Morocco’s quiet beauty.

Day 1 – Welcome to Tangier

You arrive in Tangier, and we’ll be there to greet you with a smile. The air smells like salt and bread, and the city hums with life. We’ll take you to a cozy guesthouse near the old medina, with views of the sea or rooftops. Settle in, drink mint tea, and take a slow walk with your guide. As the sun sets, we’ll visit the old port and the hillside village of Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Golden light, soft waves, seagulls flying perfect for your first photos. Dinner is at a local spot where fishermen eat. Simple food, warm hearts.

Day 2 – Tangier Old Medina & Artistic Soul

We start early in the old medina — narrow alleys, blue doors, cats on walls, and colorful tiles. The light is soft, the streets are quiet, and it’s a dream for photos. We’ll visit the Kasbah Museum, once a palace, with views over the whole city. Then, we’ll walk to the American Legation, a quiet place full of art and history. After lunch, we’ll meet a local painter or photographer and hear their story. You can take portraits and learn how Moroccans see their own city. In the late afternoon, we’ll find a rooftop café for tea and people-watching. The city buzzes below — a great moment to practice street photography.

Day 3 – Chefchaouen the Blue City

After breakfast, we drive into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen the famous Blue City. The road winds through green hills and small villages. We’ll stop for photos: a farmer with goats, a market stand with oranges, a view of the valley. By midday, we arrive in the blue streets. Check into a peaceful guesthouse with mountain views. Drop your bag, then take a gentle walk with your guide. Wander through quiet alleys, find hidden corners, and watch the evening light turn blue into purple. Dinner is on a rooftop with the whole city below. You’re in the heart of the magic now.

Day 4 – Morning Light & the Heart of Chefchaouen

We wake up early to catch the soft morning light. The city is calm, the air is cool, and the blue walls glow. We’ll walk slowly through alleys, looking for small details — a flower in a pot, a shadow on a wall, a child waving hello. Visit the Grand Mosque and the kasbah garden, and learn how this town became blue. We’ll stop at a small café for coffee with a view. Later, you’ll meet a local craftsperson — maybe a weaver or woodworker. With permission, take their photo and hear their story. In the evening, we’ll look at your photos together and share tips.

Day 5 – Women Cooperative & Mountain Walk

Today we visit a women’s weaving cooperative on the edge of town. These women make beautiful scarves using natural dyes from saffron, henna, and indigo. You’ll watch them work, take photos of their hands and smiles, and support their work. After that, we’ll have lunch with a local family — fresh food, warm tea, real connection. In the afternoon, we’ll walk through olive groves outside the city. Quiet paths, mountain views, and great light for photos. Back in town, you can explore the market or rest. This day is full of color, craft, and kindness.

Day 6 – From Chefchaouen to Fes

We leave the Blue City after breakfast and drive to Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest and most magical cities. The road takes us through green valleys and Berber villages. We’ll stop in a small town for photos and a break. By late afternoon, we arrive in Fes. Check into a traditional riad in the heart of the old city. Drop your bag and take a slow walk with your guide. The medina is big and busy, but we’ll show you the quiet paths. Dinner is in a hidden courtyard, with tagine and music in the background. You’ve arrived in the soul of Morocco.

Day 7 – Exploring Fes el-Bali (Old Fes)

We start at sunrise near the Bou Inania Madrasa, where the morning light hits the tiles just right. Then we walk deep into Fes el-Bali, the oldest part of the city. This is not a museum — it’s real life. Donkeys carry goods, bakers pull bread from wood ovens, and craftsmen hammer copper. We’ll visit the tanneries (with mint leaves to help with the smell!) and see how leather is dyed in rainbow colors. You’ll take bold, colorful photos. Later, we’ll climb to a rooftop for a wide view of the whole medina — thousands of rooftops, minarets, and smoke rising from kitchens. In the evening, we’ll share your best shots and talk about what you’ve seen.

Day 8 – Artisans & Hidden Courtyards

Today we meet the makers. We’ll visit a potter, a metalworker, and a tile artist — all working in small workshops just like their families did for generations. You can take close-up photos of their hands, tools, and art. With permission, take portraits and ask questions. After lunch, we’ll explore hidden courtyards and old palaces with beautiful fountains and mosaics. These places are quiet, full of light, and perfect for peaceful photos. In the late afternoon, we’ll find a rooftop café for mint tea and a view of the sunset. The city glows gold.

Day 9 – Day Trip to the Countryside

We take a short drive to a village in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Walk through apple orchards and cedar forests. Meet a Berber family and have lunch in their home. Eat on the floor, drink tea, and laugh together. You’ll take natural, heartfelt photos of daily life. Afternoon is free to rest, walk, or explore. On the way back, stop at a small waterfall or spring — a calm place to reflect. Return to Fes in the evening. One last night in the medina.

Day 10 – Final Morning

One last walk through Fes at sunrise. Quiet alleys, soft light, the city waking up. Take your final photos — a baker, a cat, a door with a brass knob. Then, coffee with your guide. Look through your favorite photos. Get one last tip. After that, you can relax, pack, or buy a gift — a painted plate, a wool scarf, a book. We’ll help you take a taxi to the train station or airport. You’ll leave with full memory cards, warm memories, and a deeper love for Morocco.
