Welcome to your 6-day Morocco tour starting from Tangier!
We will pick you up from your hotel the airport, or the port in Tangier. This city is called the bride of the north because the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean here near Cape Spartel.
We will see the pretty city of Tangier. You will visit the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel Then we will drive inside the country to Chefchaouen We go through Tetouan and the Rif mountains We will stop for great views You will sleep in a hotel in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, you can walk in the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Then, we go to see the very old Roman ruins at Volubilis It is a special old place protected by UNESCO Next, we visit the city of Meknes. Finally, we drive to Fes You will sleep in a special Moroccan hotel (a Riad).
A guide will show you around Fes You will see the big gate of the Royal Palace. You will walk in the old city center (the Medina) You will see the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). You will visit an old school (Medrasa Bouanania) a pretty fountain (Najjarine) the leather making area (Tanneries) and a very old mosque and university (Quaraouin). You will see the old Jewish area (the Mellah) You will go up to an old fort for great views over the Medina and Fes.
We drive south through Imouzzer We visit Ifrane called Morocco Switzerland It is known for cold weather, snow, and houses like in the mountains. You will visit the forest with tall cedar trees. You might see wild monkeys (Barbary macaques) there! We continue to Midelt and stop for lunch Then we drive over the Tizi nTilghmt pass and along the Ziz valley We will stop for more great views.
You will arrive at the amazing Merzouga Sahara Desert in the afternoon Get ready for a fun change You will leave the car behind and ride camels over the sandy dunes We will stop on a high dune so you can watch a truly beautiful desert sunset After this special time you will go to your desert camp Do not worry you will sleep in comfy tents under the stars like nomads but with modern comforts At night you will enjoy Berber drum music around a campfire and look up at the bright stars You will sleep right there at the camp
You will wake up early to see a stunning sunrise over the desert it is worth it After breakfast we will leave the desert First you will visit Rissani an old capital city You will see its busy market it is extra lively on Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays Next we will go to Erfoud where you will visit a place that works with special fossil stone Then we will drive through palm tree areas to the Todra Gorges Here the river made a tall narrow canyon with big red cliffs a top spot for climbers You will have time to walk around and see the amazing views You will have lunch at a local place Finally we will drive to Dades Valley You will see cool rock shapes called monkey fingers and stop for great valley views You will have dinner and sleep at a hotel in the valley
After breakfast you will visit the pretty Roses Valley near Kalaa Magouna this area is famous for its May Rose Festival where they sell rose water and perfumes Then you will drive through Skouras palm trees and see Amredhyle Kasbah You will arrive in Ouarzazate where you will visit movie studios many famous films were made here and see the Taourirt Kasbah Next you will explore the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah This is a very old village a UNESCO site where movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed After that you will visit Telouet Kasbah Finally we will drive over the high Tizi N Tichka mountain pass in the Atlas Mountains We will stop for photos and lunch at nice spots along the way We will drop you off at your hotel a Riad in Marrakech Your wonderful 6 day tour ends here We hope you will love it
